Friendship Groups

It is often difficult to get to know other Guild members at our general meetings as there is always a great deal of activity and a scheduled agenda for the evening. Friendship Groups, sometimes referred to as “small groups,” are made up of Guild members who get together with others in their area on a weekly or monthly basis in a more intimate and informal atmosphere for friendship, conversation and quilting. Joining a Friendship Group will give you a better opportunity to meet others in a more relaxed environment. It will also make general meetings more enjoyable as you will begin to recognize familiar faces.

As a member of the Guild, you are encouraged to join one or more Friendship Groups, which are listed below by area and meeting times. If there isn’t a group near you, you may want to consider starting one. Just put a notice in The QGD Newsletter soliciting interest and you may have a flock of friends before you know it!

Daytime meetings:

• 911 Quilt –
  Thursdays 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, near North Park Mall, Dallas. Open to new members.
• Bluebonnet Patches of Ennis –
  First Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Ennis (210 N. McKinney). Open to new members.
• Cotton Club –
  Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Rejoice Lutheran Church, Coppell (532 East Sandy Lake Road - west of 35E). Please note that this time and location are new as of March 3, 2010. Open to new members.
• Nimble Fingers –
  Fourth Thursday, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Quilter's Connection, Dallas (9658 Plano Road). Open to new members.

Evening Meetings

• Goin' to Pieces –
  Second Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at Quilter's Connection, Dallas (9658 Plano Road). Open to new members.
• Loose Threads –
  Second Monday, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Quilter's Connection, Dallas (9658 Plano Road). Open to new members.
• Piececorps –
  Third Thursday, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in member's homes in Richardson/North Dallas area. Open to new members.
• Pieceful Friends –
  Second Tuesday in member's homes in Richardson/North Dallas/Sachse area. Currently at capacity.
• Quilters Unique –
  Third Monday, 7:00 p.m. in member's homes in Richardson/Plano area. Currently at capacity.
• Sew Whats –
  Third Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at New Covenant Methodist Church, Sunnyvale. Open to new members.
